At The Tern Retreat, we live in harmony with nature, ensuring our environmental footprint is kept as small as possible.
The Vegetation: The estate is covered in pristine, protected Fynbos—an ancient floral kingdom found nowhere else on earth. Only indigenous plants that have grown here for thousands of years are allowed to thrive.
Smart Eco-Design: Perlemoen House and all pathways are carefully designed to blend seamlessly into the natural landscape, protecting the soil and the local wildlife corridors.
🌸 Fynbos Fact: The word “Fynbos” comes from Afrikaans and means “fine bush.” It is incredibly aromatic—take a deep breath during your morning walk to smell the wild honey and herbal notes!
🐝 Sweet Future Plans: Our love for this scent goes deep: In 2027, I will be training as a beekeeper with the ultimate goal of producing and offering our very own, exclusive Romansbaai Fynbos Honey right here at Perlemoen House!
